golego - 3D Legoland anaglyph Clip

Author: steffen.troeger  |  Category: Brick Art, General, News, golego Films, golego Reports

it took a bit of experimenting. But finally it´s on youtube: our first 3D Lewo clip. Not an animated movie so far, but a short stereoscopic 3D walkthrough Legoland Germany. As it does not work the same like the 3D Cinema Movies right now on the screens, you can´t use your cinema-glasses. You need some anaglyph glasses or you can watch it cross-eyed or in paralell-mode. Clip the Clip and go to youtube to have al functions.

The Footage was shot with a Fuji Real 3D W1 camera, converted with Stereo Splicer in two single clips on our Mac and finalized with Quicktime, iMovie and Final Cut Studio. As this stupid Fuji Software does not really support OSX with the Stereo-Clips it shots we say “thankyou very much” to japanese programmer Junji Ikeda for creating Stereo Splicer and his very good and detailed tutorial how to make a Side-by-Side Clip on a Mac.

Will this be the new product line in 2010 ?

We had the chance to “see” and film it while our 2 hour brickfilm workshop LIVE inside the Apple Store, Munich.
The workshop with me and Sandra was to show people, what brickfilming is and what we use for it. We were invited by Boinx Software (creators of iStopMotion) and Apple to this Artis-Serial called “Made on a MAC”. The workshop was cool, all the people very nice and the APPLE Store Munich was crowded. The people very interested in what we made and showed. First there was a overview about stopmotion and why LEGO bricks are so cool to animate. Then we made an animated short right inside the store.

Keep in mind that the first part of the Movie was made LIVE at the Apple Store in Munich (with a lot of people watching), so the light flickers and you can see the reflections of the audience at the brickish front of the Lego-made-Apple-Store. The second part of the Clip was made at home, one day prior to the event. We combined both parts, the Sound-Effects, the Music and Voices at the end of the brickfilm-show inside the Store.

You can watche the brickfilm commercial for the “iWash” we made (english & german version) - and there is a clip about the brickfilm-Show-Event.

There will be a nice Set out of LEGO-Bricks, our Camera and other Hardware like a desklamp, beside the Computer. Some kind a experimental adventure for us. golego.de & brick-potter.de invited to LEGO Fanworld in Cologne (6th - 9th November 2008). A lot of adult Fans of LEGO showed their buildings to the masses. LEGO itself had the half  of the 1000 square -meter big exhebition hall - showing creations, building for kids and the presenting the biggest Brick of the world. We have been invited by MBFR, as some members liked to have some help at their booth for brickfilms. Sandra, Mario Baumgartner and me liked the idea and went to Cologne. It was nice to be a part of this cool event. Watch the Clip to see the brickfilm booth. Sandra and me made even some Interviews with the builders on the location - you can watch them too.
