The german “Brickfilm Festival - STEINEREI” meets the international Festival of Animated Film in Stuttgart. Our friend Mathias Mertens, founder of “Steinerei”, will be in town, screen a bunch of Brickfilms and talk about the art of brickfilming. Let´s see how our Movie “MIMUS” will look like on the big screen of the Gloria Cinema, near Main Station Stuttgart.
Selected productions from five years of Steinerei moderated by the founder of Steinerei Mathias Mertens and the brick film expert Karin Wehn. A brick film is an animated film produced using bricks. And this more or less sums up the import of this genre – for films which are produced using Lego or other click brick toys possess a transnational charm which unites generations and to which almost no-one who has ever had studded bricks in their hand is immune. The German “Steinerei” festival has been held since 2005 and is the only independent festival for brick films worldwide. This annual competition has brought about an immense increase in both the creativity and quality of amateur productions. Anything is possible – from a walk through Legoland and spy thrillers to reflections on the character of cinema or 5 million years of human history.
playing around with Crazy Talk 6 - a really stupid Clip was the result.
Thanks a lot to “thefourmonkeys” beeing so fast sending us the voice-lines “in just seconds”
it took a bit of experimenting. But finally it´s on youtube: our first 3D Lewo clip. Not an animated movie so far, but a short stereoscopic 3D walkthrough Legoland Germany. As it does not work the same like the 3D Cinema Movies right now on the screens, you can´t use your cinema-glasses. You need some anaglyph glasses or you can watch it cross-eyed or in paralell-mode. Clip the Clip and go to youtube to have al functions.
The Footage was shot with a Fuji Real 3D W1 camera, converted with Stereo Splicer in two single clips on our Mac and finalized with Quicktime, iMovie and Final Cut Studio. As this stupid Fuji Software does not really support OSX with the Stereo-Clips it shots we say “thankyou very much” to japanese programmer Junji Ikeda for creating Stereo Splicer and his very good and detailed tutorial how to make a Side-by-Side Clip on a Mac.
March, 23: youth-TV-magazin “on3-suedwild” (produced for “Bayerischer Rundfunk”) will be in Guenzburg, Germany for a week to show what cool things go on and are in and around the bavarian town Guenzburg. “LEGOLAND Germany” is beside Guenzburg, so they will show at the first day of their visit a few things made with LEGO-Bricks. One aspect is “brickfilming” and we are asked to come to the TV-Show-Bus for an interview. Yep. We´ll be there…
Broadcasting will be on: March 23, 2010 - and the LIVE show is in between pm 16:30 up to 17:30, on br-alpha,
what can be seen digitally all over europe on Astra satellite and on most of the german cable networks.
It seems there is a live-sream too… check out this site and click “br-alpha” to watch it!

Our friend and CEO of BOINX SOFTWARE, Oliver Breidenbach was invited to Macworld Expo 2010,
to show up and demonstrate their LIVE broadcasting and Podcast Software “BOINX TV” at the keynote of Guy Kawasaki.
He used our golego “iWash” clip, we made at the Apple Store Munich, inside his presentation. Very cool!
